2025 Second Season ("S2") Registration Information
WHAT IS SECOND SEASON? WHO IS IT FOR?
Appleton Little League's Second has been around since 2015, for years just for Baseball 9-12, but has since expanded to Rookie, Tee Ball, and in 2019, Girls Softball. It's for players looking for up to 4 weeks and 8 games, in a laid-back environment (wear any baseball hat, for example). Some are looking to improve their skills, while others may have been unavailable during the regular season due to just moving to the area, not available due to playing in another sport or injury, or something else. Anyone willing to play in Appleton is welcome to join - we've had players from as far away from Green Bay and Oshkosh join. We provide local business-sponsored team shirts to all players and coaches they get to keep, and players get to pick their uniform number.
PRICING:
If you are a returning player from Appleton Little League's 2025 regular season ("S1"), you will receive a discount per player when checking out. Online payment only.
Major/Minor Player $75 ($55 if played in ALL S1)
Rookie $65 ($45 if played in ALL S1)
Tee Ball $40 ($30 if played in ALL S1)
Minor, and Major will have 7-8 scheduled games, Rookie 6-7, and Tee Ball 5-6.
S2 LEVELS OF PLAY:
MINOR/MAJOR for "league ages" 8-12 (Baseball as of 8/31/2025, Girls Softball as of 12/31/2024): Player pitch league. Continuous batting order, with no player normally sitting more than 2 innings defensively. Mix of Minor and Major rules.
League age 8-year-olds may register for Major/Minor; however, an assessment by their previous coach and/or a commissioner may be required to confirm their ability to play at this level, especially if the player was in Rookie during the regular season. Please email [email protected] if you have questions.
ROOKIE for "league ages 6-8" (as of 8/31/2025): Coed machine pitch (coach-assisted) league. This league is instructional and developmental in nature.
League age 6-year-olds may register for Rookie; however, an assessment by their previous coach and/or a commissioner may be required to confirm their ability to play at this level if the player was in Tee Ball during the regular season. Please email [email protected] if you have questions.
TEE BALL for "league ages" 4-6 (as of 8/31/2025): Coed, introduction to game of baseball, following regular season "Advanced" format, where coaches pitch to players who are ready, while others can hit off a tee.
A player at the top of their level's age may "play up" a level during S2, to give them an introduction to that level for next season. For example, a league age 8-year-old who played Rookie level during the regular season may play Minor/Major (Minor for SB) in S2, and a league age 6-year-old who played Tee Ball during the regular season may play Rookie level. This may be subject to an evaluation by the coaches and commissioners of the league.
